Occasionally I create a CD on my Mitsubishi 2x6x2 CD writer (remarketed Ricoh).

The CD is mounted writing side down while in the writer (like all CD writers). My best guess is that buggsy was added to the CD when the CD was inserted into the writer, because the writing clearly stops when it gets to buggsy. A subsequent write of exactly the same data went further to the edge of the CD.
